Hey everyone, we’re Daniel and Mabel, the duo behind the brand.
Our vision for Chun Fa is to digitalize our family pork business so that every Singaporean will enjoy a slice of freshness from ‘Ah Huat’ 老字号. Our pork business has its roots over 40 years ago, back in the days where pig rearing was still allowed in Singapore.
My father Chun Fa, or ‘Ah Huat’ as he is more affectionately called, grew up learning the ins and outs of the trade from his father and brothers. They had pig farms in Lim Chu Kang and Jalan Kayu, and at one point cared for over a thousand pigs. They painstakingly created their own pig feeds and tended to the animals daily, making sure that the pigs were in the pink of health. When the government mandated that pig rearing was no longer allowed, the family sold the pigs, and my father continued the business selling fresh pork at Boon Lay Place Wet-market to this day. He may have started out rough and small, but he didn’t give up!⠀⠀
CHUN FA has grown and evolved into a household name, and without my dad’s vision for the business, we wouldn’t be where we are today. He has taught me and my family the value of hard work, diligence and dedication to one’s craft. We will seek to serve our customers as well as my dad, and will continue to refine our craft and value any feedback to better improve our customers experience.
Now that we’re running Chun Fa as the 3rd generation in this family business, we’re leveraging on digital technology to expand our pork operations. Now, while methods to handle meat and operational pork processes have changed for improved efficiency and scalability, one thing remains the same – our life’s mission to bring FRESH & HEALTHY PORK from the wet market to your dining table.
On that note, our vision for Chun Fa is really to preserve our family’s legacy in these time honed skills and expertise, so that our customers like YOU and your family can enjoy the FRESHEST PORK over a hearty and healthy meal together. And yes, pork does bond families together.
